Short Bio: Professor Sy Duong-Quy is currently Director of Lam Dong Medical College and Sleep Lab Center; and Professor of Penn State Medical College. He is President of Federation of Southeast Asian Sleep Medicine – FSSM – and Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine – VSSM.
He is expert in Sleep Medicine and Respiratory Diseases. He is also Fellow of College of Chest Physicians of USA.

Professor Sy Duong-Quy is a clinicial physician who is also very active in both teaching and research. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals and book chapters in international textbooks. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Functional Ventilation and Pulmonology – JFVP and Journal of Vascular Medicine and Surgery – JVMS. He was invited as a speaker in many international congresses. He was the Chairs of the first ASSM Regional Congress and the fifth FSSM Congress holding in November 2019 in Dalat, Vietnam.

Activity: In response to World Sleep Day, on April 22, 2021, the Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine (VSSM) held a Ceremony to establish the Vietnam Association of Snoring and Sleep Apnea (VASSA). The establishment of VASSA will support the training of medical staff as well as taking care of patients with sleep apnea more effectively.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Family Medicine Association and the Vietnam Respiratory Society, showing the inseparable link between health disciplines. In addition, the ceremony also attracted about 40 members of VSSM to attend with 3 presentations on sleep apnea.
