Short Bio: The Separated Child Foundation offers practical, emotional and social support to separated children and young people in Britain up to the age of 21. We also engage in educational activities that raise awareness of their needs and encourage positive responses to them.
Activity: We are the only charity in the UK that provides sleep packs to lone refugee youth to help them improve their sleep health after traumatic journeys to safety. In the lead up to World Sleep Day we have been engaging with supporters about how to get a better night’s sleep whilst raising awareness of the sleep issues faced by separated children who are trying to rebuild their lives in the UK. The campaign will culminate in a special packing session in Croydon on Friday 15th March where we will aim to create 200 sleep packs – full of carefully selected sleep tools such as night lights – to be distributed to separated children over the next two weeks.
