Activity: On behalf of the 2024 World Sleep Day commemoration, the Multidisciplinary Sleep Medicine Unit of the Garcia de Orta Hospital/ ULS Almada -Seixal developed different activities:
15th March
– An exhibition of posters in the main atrium of the hospital, with informative messages about good sleep habits, sleep diseases and sleep studies.
– Short videos with the poster’s main messages and a demonstration of how to hook up polysomnography device.
– Brief individual informative session performed by our technologist staff on the topics approached, we also offered information leaflets and optional questionnaires to assess sleep quality, sleepiness and sleep apnea screening (Global sleep assessment questionnaire, Epworth questionnaire, Stop Bang questionnaire).

These activities were developed for patients, hospital health professionals and other hospital employees.
16th March
A morning walk in a park (Parque da Paz – Almada) with 65 registered participants. The aim of the walk was to raise awareness of sleep quality and equity for global health.
These 2024 World Sleep Day activities were developed with the Gasoxmed partnership. (Gasoxmed is a home healthcare service provider).
