Short Bio: The Academia Mexicana de Medicina del Dormir, also known as the Mexican Academy of Sleep Medicine A.C., is comprised of experts in the fields of medicine, psychology, dentistry, nursing, and sleep study technology. Their collective focus is on the diagnosis, treatment, and research of various aspects of Sleep Medicine.

By working together, the members of this organization offer a diverse range of educational opportunities. These include University-recognized certifications in sleep medicine, monthly virtual webinars, as well as other courses, workshops, and an annual internation congress that occurs every August. This year’s evento will take place from August 16 to 18th in Mexico city.

Activity: This World Sleep Day, we have collaborated with several organizations, including UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico), INER (Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias), APAC (Asociación Pro Personas Con Paralisis Cerebral), Papalote Children’s Museum, Facultad de Medicina UNAM, Facultad de Psicologia UNAM, and División de Investigación Facultad de Medicina UNAM, to bring you a series of exciting activities.

On March 1st, we will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Sleep Medicine Unit at Mexico’s National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER).

On March 17th, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sleep Disorders Clinic at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (CTS-UNAM). Additionally, we will be hosting a full day hybrid event to raise awareness and educate both the medical community and general public on healthy sleep habits.

Finally, we will be inaugurating the 2023 Diploma Course in Sleep Disorders Updates: Multidisciplinary Approach, which is an intensive, four-month hybrid course endorsed by the university and designed for health professionals.
