Preamble
This action has as its central objective the equity of sleep for the mental health of all our teenagers, involving a school as a sensor and fundamental vehicle for psychoeducational actions on how to obtain healthy sleep. The theme will be part of the week celebrating World Sleep Day: March 15, 2024 and is in line with the meaning of sleep as an opportunity, as well as a necessity for all sectors of society. Sleep is essential for health, but measurable differences in sleep health persist among populations around the world, creating additional burdens and reinforcing health inequities. World Sleep Day is an opportunity to promote sleep health alongside thousands of other sleep health professionals and advocates. When we all promote health, a combined effort is generated that is greater than the sum of its parts. By publicizing adolescents’ sleep health, we can improve learning, quality of life and stimulate mental health. Let’s talk about sleep in teenagers!

Video translation!
Firstly, I would love to thank the World Sleep Society, and Brazilian Sleep Association for this opportunity to talk about sleep as a need and an opportunity, also as a window of the Brain development to improve the healthy mental of the our adolescents. They bring out question about academic tasks, nutrition before sleep and athletic tasks. It was an amazing event with a rich discussion. We know that the sleep duration of teenagers is Around 8-10 hours. This is a larger amount of sleep compared to adult age. Probably, we have a lot of adolescents with the insufficient sleep syndrome following sleep deprivation. I have know that in this moment, we have burned out several projects for the future and we really understood, that there is no doubt that the sleep medicine needs to be inside of the school. Thank you for you support.
