Daily awareness programs are conducted at AIIMS gynaecology OPD on Tuesdays and Fridays and at GTB Hospital OPD on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These programs aim to raise awareness about the health impact of COVID-19, lifestyle factors, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) through virtual and face-to-face meetings (refer to Annexure-I). A total of 2500 subjects were screened as part of these programs, and a Facebook page has been created to further disseminate information.
Additionally, booklets (refer to Annexure II) and banners (refer to Annexure-III) are being prepared, and representatives are engaging with residential associations to seek permission for conducting awareness programs and medical health camps. The health awareness program on PCOS and OSA (refer to Annexure-IV) includes a presentation covering the causes, health problems associated with these conditions, and preventive measures, presented in the form of a simple story. Material in Hindi and English, including leaflets, booklets, banners, posters, and audiovisual presentations, is being developed to spread awareness about PCOS and OSA. Lectures, workshops, and group discussions are planned in hospitals and residential areas to ensure maximum outreach, particularly among females.
From the 2500 subjects screened, 270 were identified with PCOS (171 from AIIMS and 99 from UCMS & GTB Hospital) and enrolled in the study. Clinical examinations, blood pressure checks, phenotypic markers assessment (refer to Annexure-V), dietary assessments, anthropometric assessments (refer to Annexure-V), and overnight sleep studies (refer to Annexure-V) have been conducted as part of the study.
