Activity: On World Sleep Day 2022, the Portuguese Society of Pulmonology – recognizing the fundamental role that general practitioners play in the identification of patients with obstructive sleep apnea and in their correct referral – dedicated its actions to these professionals.
During the 18th of March, 20 pulmonologists from the Portuguese Society of Pulmonology visited 20 health centers throughout the country, in 20 different cities, where they carried out an awareness-raising action for general practitioners.
One of the materials distributed in this action was a “sleep guide”: an easy-to-read manual highlighting the importance of sleep and good sleep hygiene measures. This material was also made available electronically to the entire Portuguese population.
In addition, on this day and in the following days, different representatives of the Portuguese Society of Pulmonology were present on several television programs where they alerted to the importance of a good sleep hygiene.
