Short Bio: PranaQ is a digital health company focusing on respiratory and sleep health.

Our mission is to empower individuals with knowledge of their health conditions, offer actionable health insights, and ultimately enhance their quality of life.

Specifically, we offer sleep and respiratory health monitoring wearables that maximize user comfort and medical-grade accuracy, making them a great fit for both one-off sleep disorder screenings and continuous sleep tracking.

TipTraQ, PranaQ’s flagship product, is a fingertip wearable that enables home sleep apnea screening and the long-term monitoring of common sleep disorders with clinically validated AI algorithms.

Activity: Unattended sleep apnea affects over 1 billion people around the world and 80% of the patients are unaware and undiagnosed.

Not only does sleep apnea put a tremendous burden on people’s daily lives, but the patients are also more susceptible to serious health conditions, including hypertension, stroke, heart disease, cancer, and depression.

On top of that, due to the high costs, long wait times, and discomfort associated with in-lab sleep studies that diagnose sleep apnea, the awareness is extremely low.

Therefore, between March 12-15, PranaQ hosted a World Sleep Day event aiming to not only promote sleep apnea and sleep health awareness but also facilitate the screening process and encourage appropriate treatment. The activities are as follows.

1. We provided education on the importance of sleep health and the signs and symptoms of sleep apnea, empowering participants to take control of their sleep health.

2. We offered free one-night home sleep apnea screenings to 36 participants.

3. Then, we sent participants their sleep reports outlining their sleep metrics the following morning.

4. Last but not least, we offered free online consultations with a certified sleep physician to participants whose screenings showed potential signs of sleep apnea, where they got detailed report interpretations and an introduction to treatment options.

In conclusion, we are proud to be able to give back to the community through the event and achieve our goal of empowering people with actionable sleep health insights and educating them about sleep hygiene and sleep disorders. Particularly, we were happy to see some participants with high potential for sleep apnea started undergoing treatment plans after the event.

Location: The activity took place at a shared office in central Taipei, where employees from different companies could participate easily: 97 Songren Rd, Xinyi District, Taipei.

Date of Activity: March 12-15, 2024
