Short Bio: The relationship between mental health and sleep is undeniable. This is why, after many years of work, in 2023, we created the Sleep Medicine Subcommittee within the Colombian Psychiatry Association (Asociacion Colombiana de Psiquiatria – ACP) to promote sleep health amongst our colleagues and in our communities.

Activity: The Sleep Medicine Subcommittee of the Colombian Psychiatry Association has organized a webinar on this year’s theme, “Sleep Equity for Global Health,” to talk about Sleep and Health Disparities in Different Populations: Older adults, Children and Teens, and People in Small Cities.

This panel webinar will feature the following experts:
– Dr. Cesar Gonzalez, former president of the Colombian Psychiatry Association and leader of the Sleep Unit in the Imbanaco Clinic (Cali, Colombia)
– Dr. Juan Felipe Rodriguez, psychiatrist for the Intellectus Center of Memory and Cognition (Bogota D.C., Colombia)
– Dr. Franklin Escobar-Cordoba, Ph.D. Medicine, psychiatrist, and Research, Development, and Innovation Coordinator for the Colombian Sleep-Wake Foundation (FUNDASUVICOL, Bogota D.C., Colombia)
– Dr. Jose Francisco Cepeda-Torres, Master in Sleep Medicine, child and adolescent psychiatrist, and Chief of Psychiatry for the Colsanitas Medical Centers (Bogota D.C., Colombia)
