Activity: This year, on March 13, 2024, in its sixth edition, to celebrate World Sleep Day, students from the sleep laboratory, Hipnos, at the Federal University of Alagoas, Arapiraca campus, Brazil, organized the VI Scientific Meeting of the Alagoano Agreste of Sleep Disorders (VI ECAADS) bringing together researchers who debated topics relevant to the central theme: Sleep Equity for Global Health (image 1).

The event was attended by the board of directors of the Alagoas State Section of the Brazilian Sleep Association, Professor Dr. Livia Gitaí (image 2)and there were approximately 150 registrants, including academics, teachers, speakers and the general community.

In parallel to the congress, an educational action to promote health and quality of sleep was carried out in the University courtyard, disseminating the importance of sleeping as well as the right of everyone with the distribution of thematic booklets emphasizing the multidisciplinary approach to sleep hygiene and the consequences of its consequences disturbances (image 3). In addition, blood pressure measurements, blood glucose tests, anthropometric measurements, vaccinations, among others, were carried out (image 4).

And on March 15th, we are going to a television program promoting World Sleep Day, as well as taking part in a walk through the city center at Maceio, Alagoas, Brazil.
