Activity: I spent 2023 World Sleep Day as a guest of a podcast called “Rock Your World Naturally with Rekishia MacMillian” discussing the link between Alzheimer’s, dementia and women who sleep less than seven hours at night. As women age, their hormones shift away from being produced by the ovaries and into being produced by the adrenal glands. But if the adrenal glands are low functioning due to years of high stress, poor diet and exhaustion, then the body will breakdown rapidly and sleep will become negatively impacted. Globally, 1 in 4 women suffer from insomnia. I am on a mission to help women stay healthy as they age. But without the skills to have restorative rest during peri-menopause and menopause, women risk destroying their brain health, heart health and mental health. I teach women how to reclaim their sleep so they can recover their mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. My book, Powerful Sleep, my sleep coaching program and my website (www.shawnarobins.com) are great ways for women’s to connect with me so they can learn invaluable strategies to sleep well as they age.
