Short Bio: Irine Sakhelashvili, Pediatrician, PhD. D student in Neuroscience, is working as an associated researcher at the Tengiz Oniani Laboratory of Sleep-Wakefulness Study, Ilia State University, Georgia. The main area of her research interests involves sleep characteristics, its disturbances and epidemiology of sleep disorders in humans.

Activity: By the initiative of the Tengiz Oniani Laboratory of Sleep-Wakefulness Study was prepared leaflets on the sleep importance for healthy development of the children, and general population. In addition, the leaflets contain the information about screen usage negative effects on the quality of sleep in the children, the recommended duration of the sleep hours by age and the commandments of the healthy sleep habits for children.

Irine Sakhelashvili with the students of the Ilia State University and co-workers of the Tengiz Oniani Laboratory of Sleep-Wakefulness Study, Mariam Suva, Natia Khmiadashvili, Tengiz Oniani and Tamar Shetekauri, conducted the educative meeting with the 11-12 age pupils, their parents and teachers with the aim of increasing awareness regarding the importance of the good sleep for health, also about the negative effects of screen use before bed. The meeting held at the 52th public school in Tbilisi, Georgia. At the end of the meeting between the participants was distributed the leaflets with the sleep hygiene recommendations and with other important information regarding sleep.
