Activity: Sleep Society of Thailand collaborated with Siriraj Sleep Center, Mahidol University and Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health to promote “World Sleep Day 2021” in Thailand in the theme of “Regular Sleep, Healthy Future”.
1. Translating theme of “Regular Sleep, Healthy Future” into Thai languages. We created the activities for general people to join translation in order to promote world sleep day. We announced the activity on December 4th, 2020. Committee agreed to choose “หลับตื่นให้เป็นเวลา สุขภาพดีกว่าในอนาคต” to be Thai slogan.

 

2. Facebook Live with topic “Regular Sleep, Healthy Future”, leading by Asst.Prof. Tayard Desudchit, MD (president of Sleep society of Thailand) accompanied by Puntarik srisawart (MD), Chawanont Pimolsri (MD), Chotiman Chinvararak (MD) and Petcharat Sangthong (MD). This activity composed of three sessions. They were “Good sleep for shift worker”, “Early sleeper Vs late sleeper” and “Sleep hygiene in Covid-19 era”. The live topic was on air from 1:30 PM until 2.30 PM.

 

 

 

3. Virtual Sleep. This activity arranged for general people to compete good sleep via their own smart watch (apple, garmin, fitbitz, etc). The aim of this was to encourage people to have good sleep. Sleep duration, regularity, awake during the night (WASO) and walking steps were considered as good sleep criteria. The recording data was evaluated for 14 days. The reward would go to the one who got the most points.

 

4. Sleep Society of Thailand collaborated with Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health gave free book named “How to get good sleep for good health” which was consistent with the theme of “Regular Sleep, Healthy Future” in Word Sleep Day 2021.

 

 

5. “Regular Sleep, Healthy Future” exhibition will be held on March 3rd – 5th, 2021 at Siriraj Hospital. We will give information about insomnia causes, how to get good sleep and happiness, snoring, sleepiness, sleep test and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

 

 

 

  1. Central Chest Institute of Thailand held zoom meeting with the topic of “Importance of Sleep and Sleep Hygiene in Eldery” and “Covid-19 and Sleep” on March 4th ,2021.

 

 

  1. Talking with Suandok Doctor: “Regular Sleep, Heathy Future” episode via facebook live from Sleep Disorders Center, Faculty of Medicine, Chiangmai University. We also invited the patient to have their CPAP machine checked on April 22nd-23rd, 2021 via both face-to-face and drive thru.

 

 

  1. On March 19th, the World Sleep Day Activities also took place in Chulalongkorn University, Phramongkutklao Hospitial, Srinagarind Hospital and Prince of Songkla University (PSU). PSU released the application called “Sleepmore” to help people assess their risk for obstructive sleep apnea and provide sleep hygiene and knowledge.
