Activity:
World Parkinson’s Program held an educational campaign targeting common sleep problems in Parkinson’s disease patients and the general public. This activity was held at the Parkinson’s Clinic of Eastern Toronto located at the Ellesmere Medical Centre, in Toronto, Canada, on March 18, 2016. Our slogan was “Good Sleep is a Reachable Dream”. Being in Toronto, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse city in the world,the Parkinson’s Clinic of Eastern Toronto serves Parkinson’s patients from various cultural backgrounds. Patients visiting the Ellesmere Medical Centre were provided educational literature regarding sleep problems in 18 different languages, including brochures, CDs, and pamphlets. This event was well perceived by all those in attendance.Dr.Abdul Qayyum Rana, the founder of World Parkinson’s Program and Mr. Shabbir Razakazee, chair of the Executive Committee of the World Parkinson’s Program also attended this activity.
