Short Bio: The group includes students in Vietnam attending World Sleep Academy (WSA) from tier 1 (2024) to tier 3 (2025). To celebrate World Sleep Day 2025, the WSA Vietnamese students organized some community activities, scientific seminars and hosted expert training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in sleep medicine.
Activity: 1. Scientific Seminar and Expert Training Sessions for Technician
Ms. Diep Nguyen, who played a key role in coordinating and organizing this event, the sessions provided valuable insights from renowned experts in the field (Mr. Carlos Teixera – President of the European Society of Sleep Technologists, Dr. Kiong Fou Yoom – DBA. RPSGT, RST, CCSH, Mr. Glenn Roldan – President, Network of Asia-Pacific Sleep Specialists, and Prof. Duong Quy Sy – President, Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine).
A significant focus of the training was to prepare for the ESRS Sleep Medicine Examination for Somnologist-Technologist Certification, ensuring that Vietnamese professionals are equipped with internationally recognized qualifications in sleep medicine.
There are also the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Association of Sleep Medicine Technologists, under the Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine (VSSM).

2. Interdisciplinary Conference on Insomnia
Another highlight of the group’s activities was a large-scale conference on insomnia, which brought together nearly 200 participants from various disciplines, including neurophysiology, psychiatry, neurology, family medicine, psychology, and sleep technology. This is a conference led by the Vietnam Association of Insomnia (VNAI).
The core members of the Organizing Committee of this conference are WSA students: Dr. Khue Bui (Vice President of VNAI), Dr. Binh-Thu Nguyen, and Dr. Quan Ma, with strong support from the VSSM. The program featured engaging presentations, panel discussions, and updates on the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia. It also raised valuable networking opportunities and interdisciplinary collaboration among professionals passionate about improving sleep health across the country. A wide range of topics were presented and discussed.

3. Outreach Projects on the World Sleep Society YouTube Channel
As part of their ongoing commitment to sleep health awareness, the Vietnamese WSA group actively contributed to tier 3 outreach projects, which were uploaded to the World Sleep Society’s official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLi49YR5thLgN8FUzUsYm9lkbBY-KH0hJ6
These projects covered a wide range of topics, helping to disseminate knowledge and raise public awareness about sleep-related issues.
Through these initiatives, the Vietnamese WSA team has demonstrated strong engagement in advancing sleep medicine education, research, and outreach. Their efforts continue to make a meaningful impact on the field, both nationally and internationally.
