Arianna Huffington, formerly of The Huffington Post and author of The Sleep Revolution: Transforming Your Life, One Night at a Time collaborated with World Sleep Day efforts to create the 2017 Press Release. In 2016, Ms. Huffington left The Huffington Post to launch Thrive Global, a start-up company dedicated to health and wellness that aligns with World Sleep Day efforts.
Ms. Huffington states, “We are living in a golden age of sleep science—revealing all the ways in which sleep and dreams play a vital role in our decision making, emotional intelligence, cognitive function, productivity, and creativity. Ultimately, science has proven that sleep is the ultimate performance enhancer. So it’s clear that if we’re going to truly thrive,” she asserts, “we must begin with sleep, the gateway through which a life of well-being must travel.”
