Delegate: Dr. Pamela Hamilton-Stubbs, BSN MD CNS
Delegate Short Bio: Dr. Hamilton-Stubbs is a distinguished triple-board-certified sleep physician with international recognition in the field of sleep medicine. As a leading expert in Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), she authored over nine publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks. Her research on RLS in children is widely cited by her peers and frequently highlighted at professional sleep conferences.
Dr. Hamilton-Stubbs began her medical career as a medical-surgical nurse and later gained experience as a critical care nurse before obtaining her medical degree. Dr. Hamilton-Stubbs is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), immediate past member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation Development Committee, and a current member of the American Board of Internal Medicine Sleep Task Force.

Activity: The Goal of this event is to increase awareness of the link between sleep and sugar cravings. Awareness will be measured by pre and post questionnaires.
On World Sleep Day, Dr. Hamilton-Stubbs Sleep and Total Wellness Institute, Inc. will offer a virtual program highlighting how poor sleep directly affects blood sugar regulation and drives sugar cravings. We aim to help participants recognize when sugar cravings are sleep driven.
The World Health Organization identifies excess consumption of free sugars as a major contributor to the global rise in non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs), including obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and dental caries.
The event will:
1. Increase awareness of the link between sleep loss and sugar cravings
2. Provide tips on how to optimize sleep
3. Provide a link to a video teaching how to record a manual sleep journal
4. Provide access to a downloadable manual sleep journal
5. Provide access to a downloadable journal to track episodes of sugar craving.
