Delegate: Sleep Awareness Month
Affiliation: Health Culture Foundation
Short Bio: Sleep Awareness Month is a national campaign dedicated to improving sleep literacy and promoting public health through education, community engagement, and accessible resources. Our mission is to help individuals of all ages understand the importance of sleep and how to improve it.
Activity: To recognize World Sleep Day and support Sleep Awareness Month 2025, we launched a new national initiative to promote sleep literacy through accessible, research-backed education. At the center of this effort is our Sleep Literacy Presentation — a customizable slide deck designed for general audiences aged 12 and up, with engaging visuals and speaker notes to support future presentations on sleep science, sleep hygiene, and behavioral change.
The resource was shared with over 15 universities and organizations across the United States and developed in collaboration with the Health Culture Foundation. While it has not yet been presented live, it has been made available for use in classrooms, student wellness programs, and community outreach efforts throughout the year. We also provided a companion toolkit with ideas for future activities, including campus sleep challenges, peer-led events, and wellness collaborations.
Our goal is to give educators, students, and health advocates the tools they need to make sleep a more visible and valued part of public health. Initial feedback from schools has been encouraging, and several partners plan to incorporate the materials into wellness initiatives beyond March.
