Short Bio: Dr. Sexton-Radek is a full professor at Elmhurst University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology for the last forty years. In addition, she teaches Clinical Psychology doctorate-level courses at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, The Chicago School, and Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Her mentorship of students has consistently provided learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students in sleep medicine and behavioral sleep medicine. She has authored over 75 peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters. She is active with the World Sleep Society, American Association of Sleep Medicine, Sleep Research Society, Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine, and the Illinois Sleep Society as a committee member and contributor of educational materials to the association.

Activity: In an advanced undergraduate course in Health Psychology, students conducted literature reviews on health promotion topics in sleep medicine, then prepared educative research-based posters about sleep health. The Sleep Health Awareness program was held at Elmhurst University for World Sleep Day and involved student poster presentations and general information about sleep health. It is estimated that some thirty students attended the gathering and learned about sleep health. Another smaller number of students stopped by and took printed materials with them. This mentorship of advanced students about sleep health and, in turn, the provision of sleep health information to a larger audience of students was successful.
