Short Bio: Golfam Javanoskooei is an experienced polysomnography educator, national scoring analyst, and faculty member dedicated to advancing sleep medicine through education, research, and professional development. With over a decade of experience, she serves as a professor at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), oversees clinical placements, and mentors future sleep technologists. She is also a faculty member for the World Sleep Academy, a National Scoring Analyst at American Sleep Medicine, and an elected member of the Maryland Board of Physicians' Polysomnography Professional Standards Committee. Passionate about improving patient care, she is conducting research on sleep coaching and PAP adherence while pursuing her doctoral degree. Her contributions to the field extend beyond the classroom, as she actively engages in industry conferences, curriculum development, and advocacy for sleep health education.

Activity: For World Sleep Day, we embraced this year’s theme, “Make Sleep Health a Priority,” by hosting an interactive activity at CCBC to raise awareness about the importance of sleep. Students, faculty, and staff participated by taking a Sleep Pledge, completing the sentence “I prioritize sleep because…” on Post-it notes, and posting them on our “Sleep Wall.” This visual display highlighted personal motivations for healthy sleep habits, from improving focus and mood to boosting overall well-being. Special thanks to MedBridge for supporting our event with sleep apnea questionnaires and the adorable sheep giveaways, making sleep education both informative and engaging. By fostering conversations about sleep health, we hope to encourage lasting habits that promote better rest and overall wellness!
