Delegate: Pietro Luca Ratti

Affiliation: Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences

Short Bio: After training in medicine and neurology in Milan, Italy, and in sleep disorders in Barcelona, and working in Italy, France, Switzerland, Martinique, and Canada,
I am currently working as a senior clinical research fellow and honorary consultant neurologist at the University of Oxford and the John Radcliffe Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Oxford.
My clinical practice and research focus primarily on sleep and vigilance disturbances in patients affected by neurodegenerative disorders, on REM sleep behavior disorder, on the relationship between sleep and movement in Parkinson's disease, and on developing new technologies applied to sleep medicine and neurodegenerative diseases.

Activity: We are organizing a stand and the entrance hall of John Radcliffe Hospital bringing together the staff of the clinical sleep lab and researchers from different departments at our university which research focuses on sleep.
We will meet the public there, have an app-delivered quiz on good and bad sleep habits, a poster on sleep physiology and we are simulating a polysomnographic recording on a volunteer.
We are also organizing a 90-minute experience as a satellite event. This will combine a concert with a musician, a visual experience by a visual artist and scientific inputs by a neuroscientist.

Location: Oxford

Date of Activity: 14.03.2025
