Delegate: Gulcin Benbir Senel
Delegate Short Bio: Gulcin Benbir Senel is a Professor of Neurology, and her research is focused on sleep medicine, restless legs syndrome, REM sleep behavior disorder and narcolepsy. She has a broad background in Neurology, with specific training and expertise in Sleep Medicine. As PI or co-Investigator on several university- and TUBITAK-funded grants, She lays the groundwork for the proposed research by developing effective measures of sleep quality and sleep disorders, relevant to patients with neurological disorders, by establishing strong ties with community providers that will make it possible to recruit and track participants over time as documented in the following publications. In addition, she successfully administered the projects (e.g. staffing, research protections, budget), collaborated with other researchers, and produced several peer-reviewed publications from each project. She is actively engaged with my research projects and collaborations since 2015.
Scope of Activity: Enduring program
Activity: This webinar is funded by the union of two societies, Turkish Sleep Medicine Society and the Sleep Medicine Study Group of the Turkish Neurological Society. It will mainly focus on healthy sleep, the effects of sleep on general population and sleep health, and the effects of the use of standard time versus daytime sparing time on circadian rhythm, social endorsements and cardiovascular health. The audience will have medical doctors, mainly those experienced in sleep medicine and neurologists.
