Scope of Activity: Individual activity
Activity: Annually, Sleep Society of Thailand created the World Sleep Day activity of translating theme “Sleep Well, Live Better” into Thai language. This activity let people to join the translation to promote world sleep day. Committee agreed to choose “นอนหลับดี เพื่อชีวีที่ดีกว่า” to be Thai slogan. Miss Parichat Phunsupa from Chiangmai province was the winner for the Thai World Sleep Day theme contest and was awarded by Prof. Naricha Chirakalwasan, M.D., president of Sleep Society of Thailand.

A nationwide campaign promoting good sleep among Thai people for physical and mental well-being on World Sleep Day 2026 in Slogan ” Sleep Well, Live Better” was held in all region of Thailand.
1. The King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Bangkok
Chula World Sleep Day 2026 was held as “Chula Week of World Sleep Day (the 9th ) under the theme “Sleep well, live better”. Many events were conducted this year including educational symposium about hypoglossal nerve stimulation which was successful performed in Thailand and Thailand was the 4th country in Asia to initiate this therapy for obstructive sleep apnea. The other topics were performing sleep test, stress to insomnia, vitamins help sleep? and sleep hygiene.

2. Siriraj Sleep Center, Mahidol University, Bangkok
The “World Sleep Day 2026” event was held on March 19-20th, 2026. Talks were delivered by sleep specialists from diverse fields. The topics included sleep for anti-aging, PM2.5 and sleep and other sleep problems.

3. Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok
“World Sleep Day 2026” Activity at Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University was held on March 5th. There were many activities; sleep talk (obesity and sleep, cardiovascular risk and snoring, good sleep is the parent’s gift, etc), Thai traditional dress contest in the theme “Black and white” (in the mourning the passing of Her Majesty the Queen Mother) and VDO clip contest in the theme “Sleep well, live better” with the winner’s clip attachment.

4. Central Chest Institute of Thailand (CCIT), Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, Nonthaburi province
“The CCIT World Sleep Day 2026 activity was held on March 5th in collaboration with the Let’s Be Heroes Foundation, Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, and Mahidol University. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, both onsite and online via Facebook Live through the Chest Disease Institute. Public education on sleep health was provided through lectures on the topics of ‘Sleep and Mental Health,’ ‘Sleep and Longevity: How Sleep Shapes Our Future Health,’ ‘Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Obesity,’ and ‘Sleep-Tracking Smartwatches: Friend or Foe?’
In addition, a musical performance featuring the song ‘Nong Non Mai Lub’ (Insomnia Song) was presented, along with light exercise activities to promote healthy sleep, and prize giveaways to audience members who correctly answered questions during the lecture sessions. A poster contest under the theme ‘Sleep Well, Live Better’ was also organized, with awards presented to the winners. A variety of engaging activities were offered, including free initial assessments and consultations on sleep health problems by a multidisciplinary team of sleep experts; screening for sleep disorders, guidance on CPAP use and care, advice on medications for sleep disorders, counseling on appropriate nutrition, oropharyngeal muscle exercises, breathing exercises, aerobic and resistance exercises for weight reduction.

5. Sleep Disorders Center, Faculty of Medicine, Chiangmai University, Chiangmai province
World Sleep Day 2026 was commemorated in Chiang Mai, Thailand, at the Geriatrics Medical Center–Excellence Center, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, on Friday, 13th March 2026, under the theme “Sleep Well, Live Better.” The event aimed to enhance public and clinical awareness of sleep health with a particular focus on the identification, assessment, and management of sleep disorders across the lifespan.
Assist. Prof. Nantaporn Tiyapun, M.D. (Department of Internal Medicine) presented core concepts in sleep physiology, sleep hygiene and clinical approaches to evaluating sleep disorders in older adults, while Assoc. Prof. Theerakorn Theerakittikul, M.D. (Department of Internal Medicine) reviewed common sleep disorders in general and middle-aged adult populations and outlined current evidence-based treatment strategies. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Kanokkarn Sunkonkit, M.D. a pediatric pulmonologist and sleep physician (Department of Pediatrics), delivered a session on pediatric sleep hygiene and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea, emphasizing clinical features, diagnostic evaluation, and both surgical and non-surgical management. A patient interview segment highlighting successful treatment experiences further strengthened audience engagement, including discussion of sleep hygiene practices and adherence to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, and the program attracted approximately 200 attendees comprising patients, caregivers, and interested community members.

6. PSU Sleep Center, Songklanagarind hospital, Songkla province
On the occasion of World Sleep Day 2026, under the theme “Sleep Well, Live Better,” an educational and health promotion event was held at Songklanagarind hospital.
The program featured expert-led discussions on key topics, including the potential risks of snoring in children and the fundamental principles of good sleep hygiene.
In addition, the event was organized into four key activity stations, namely Sleep Hygiene Screening, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Screening, Oropharyngeal Exercise, and CPAP Demonstration. Each station was designed to provide participants with targeted knowledge and practical guidance, ranging from assessment and risk screening to preventive strategies and treatment options, thereby promoting better sleep health in alignment with the theme “Sleep Well, Live Better.” Participants who complete all four activity stations and collect stamps at each station in their “My Sleep Passport” will be eligible to receive a prize and souvenirs.
