Activity: Sleep Society of Thailand organized three meetings to celebrate World Sleep Day 2017.
- The first meeting, Sleep Society of Thailand and Department of Health, Ministry of Public health will host the conference with 250 public health technical officers and nurses from 77 provinces in Thailand during 1-3 March 2017. The aim of the conference is to promote good sleep hygiene in all Thai people. Last year in 2016, public health technical officers in 26 provinces promoted World Sleep Day 2016 with 6810 participants. Thailand is the first country that Ministry of health has organized World Sleep Day. This year Ministry of health with Sleep Society of Thailand plan to promote World Sleep Day 2017 in 77 provinces. (Images of event below.) Ministry of health and Sleep society of thailand promotes provincial health office and hospital to organize world sleep day activities in their area. These are example pictures of activities from Kamphaengphet Provincial health office, Saraburi Health Promoting Hospital,Na Mom Hospital in Phichit and Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital. Kamphaengphet provincial heath office hosts radio program in local radio station.
- The second meeting, Sleep Society of Thailand, Pramongkutklao Hospital (Thai army medical school) and Department of Health will host World Sleep Day 2017 on 22 March 2017. This event open for the public. Five hundreds attendants are expected.
- The third meeting, Sleep Disorder Center and Department of Psychiatry, Ramathibodi Hospital invited Michael Perlis, PhD and Donn Posner, PhD from USA for “Bangkok insomnia 2017” and celebrate World Sleep Day during 14 to 17 March 2017 at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok.
