Activity: World Sleep Day was celebrated in Romania this year in Bucharest. Our section organised a press conference where several major themes were presented and discussed, such as:
-The importance of a proper sleep and the causes of major sleeping problems,
-How is the Summer Timezone affecting the human body,
-The important elements of a better sleep, better life, better planet,
-The economical and social consequences of a bad sleep,
-The frequent sleep problems children encounter with, their causes and how to prevent them.
Due to the alarming situation related to the pandemic of COVID-19, for the safety of the guests, but also of the journalists, the press conference was held online. The journalists were able to watch the presentations in real time and send recorded questions (audio/video) or written ones.
We took this as an opportunity to spread the awareness to a bigger audience. Therefore, we streamed the conference LIVE, both on Facebook and YouTube. The conference had a total reach of 52,080 people. Not only journalists were able to put questions, but also the people watching the LIVE stream. The speakers, Prof. Dr. Florin Mihălțan and Dr. Oana Deleanu, answered the questions received after they finished their presentations. The video remained online for patients or people interested in this matter who could not attend at that specific time, or simply want to learn more about the global sleeping issue.
In matters of press coverage, the event had 41 apparitions and 13,979,956 impressions.
