Short Bio: MA in Psychology, PhD in Medical Sciences, Habilitation in Social Sciences. Associate Professor at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. Head of the Department of Health Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology. Chairperson of the Scientific Board of the Psychological Aid Center at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. Affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. For several years, scientific interests have been focused on chronopsychology as well as the diagnosis and therapy of cognitive functions. Author or co-author of over 80 publications, including the monograph “Chronotype, cognitive performance and circadian activity in healthy subjects. Relationship to candidate genes of the central biological clock”.
Activity:
As part of World Sleep Day, the Faculty of Psychology of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, in cooperation with the Department of Psychiatry of the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń has prepared several events to promote healthy sleep.
Among them:
· Open consultations on the healthy sleep-wake rhythm conducted by psychologist Monika Wiłkość-Dębczyńska, Ph.D., Associate Professor, psychiatrist Wiktor Dróżdż, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Nicolaus Copernicus University and Tadeusz Pracki, Ph.D., expert of the Polish Society for Sleep Research.
· Open lecture: “Between pillow and desire – how does sleep affect sexual functioning?”. During the lecture, Dr. Magdalena Liberacka-Dwojak will discuss how sleep disorders can affect the quality of sex life
· Open lecture with elements of the workshop: “I breathe evenly and calmly – or how to improve your sleep using relaxation training”. During the lecture, Dr. Kamila Litwic-Kamińska will present what autogenic training is and what it has to do with proper sleep hygiene.
1. Workshop for teenagers “The glow of screens and the darkness of night: Healthy sleep in the digital age”. During the workshop, Dr. Jakub Piotrowski will explain why light is so important for human functioning and what are the effects of excessive exposure to blue light on sleep.
· Workshops for teenagers, people with motor and mental disabilities and their carers “Mission: Good Sleep – Wake Up Smart with Alarm Clock Art” During the workshops, Agnieszka Schmeichel, MSc, will discuss healthy sleep habits, and for willing participants, she will conduct a chronotype test and sleep training.
