Short Bio: I am a consultant neurologist with a strong interest and passion for sleep medicine.

I and other team members have organized courses and lectures for Medical Doctors and other health workers on Sleep disorders and I have also organized Sleep awareness campaigns.

I with other team members of the multidisciplinary sleep research team at the Obafemi Awolowo University have been involved in the annual planning and execution of public awareness campaigns and update lectures on sleep Disorders. I am also involved in the establishment of the Nigerian Sleep Society as well as the organization of the Africa Sleep Network Webinar Series .

I have also been working with other colleagues regarding the Establishment of the Nigerian Sleep Society and the African Sleep Society.

Activity: The focus of our activities this year Included a Symposium hosted in the Department of Medicine Titled ; ' Making Sleep Health a Priority Among Health Care Workers' . The adverse effects of sleep deprivation and excessive work load among Residents and Interns were highlighted. The need for ensuring limits to work hours in line with international standards among residents and interns was highlighted as well as the need for support.

School outreach Programme was carried out among various secondary schools in Osun State. The theme of the World Sleep Day was discussed as well as the 10 commandments of sleep for children which highlighted important sleep Hygiene measures. Questions asked by the pupils which was also addressed include the following : Why is sleep important ?, People read through the night instead of sleeping since it is said that night time is the best time to read is it good?, what is the difference between rest and sleep, what is the cause of sleep walking? and why should we not use drugs to sleep ?
