Short Bio: I'm a Charge Clinical Physiologist specialising in paediatric respiratory & sleep medicine. As the Professional Lead & Charge Physiologist, I drive service development, advocate for paediatric representation in physiology, and implement best practices in sleep diagnostics.
With expertise in polysomnography, non-invasive ventilation, and paediatric sleep disorders, I focus on optimising workflows, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, and improving patient care in paediatric sleep medicine.
Activity: We hosted a stand showcasing Sleep Diagnostics and Therapies. The event provided an opportunity for staff, patients and public to engage with key aspects of sleep medicine and learn more about the tools and techniques used in sleep.
We demonstrated live PSG and live transcutaneous CO₂ and SpO₂ monitoring, highlighting their role in assessing sleep disordered breathing in children. Attendees had the chance to see the equipment in action, discuss real world applications, and ask questions about interpreting sleep study data. Including a sleep study epoch.
The session also covered CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapies, with a focus on setup, troubleshooting, and optimising therapy for paediatric patients. Staff, patients and public were able to gain hands on experience and discuss best practices for managing sleep therapy.
The event encouraged discussion and knowledge sharing, helping to build confidence in recognising and managing sleep disorders. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the session a success.
