Activity: Program Pencegahan Microsleep & Kelesuan (Microsleep and Fatigue Prevention Programme)

In support of World Sleep Day 2026, an online sleep health awareness programme titled “Program Pencegahan Microsleep & Kelesuan” was conducted to increase awareness about the dangers of fatigue, sleep deprivation, and microsleep.

The programme was organized for employees of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan when changes in sleep patterns may affect alertness and productivity.

The session was delivered by Professor Dr Louis Adaikalam, President of Malaysia Sleep Apnea Association, focusing on the relationship between sleep health, fatigue, and workplace safety.

Key topics covered during the programme included:

• Understanding microsleep and fatigue-related risks
• The impact of sleep deprivation on alertness and decision-making
• The relationship between sleep, health, and workplace safety
• Recognizing early signs of drowsiness and fatigue
• Practical strategies to improve sleep quality during Ramadan.

The programme was delivered through an online session using Microsoft Teams, allowing participants to join remotely and engage in discussions on sleep health and fatigue management.

This initiative aimed to strengthen awareness of sleep health and encourage individuals to adopt better sleep practices to enhance safety, wellbeing, and daily performance.
