Short Bio: Dr. Goh is a board-certified otorhinolaryngologist from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He holds multiple sleep-related qualifications, including a fellowship in sleep medicine and sleep surgery from the SingHealth-Duke Sleep Center, Singapore. Dr. Goh currently leads the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) SNORE Team, spearheading the development of sleep services at UMMC. A passionate advocate for sleep education, he has successfully hosted three consecutive World Sleep Day events since 2023. At the heart of his practice, Dr. Goh promotes multidisciplinary collaboration, believing that by inspiring healthcare professionals to uphold safe and effective sleep medicine practices, patients will, in turn, be empowered to take charge of their sleep health.

Activity: World Sleep Day 2025 Activities

Our World Sleep Day 2025 campaign spanned from January to April 2025, with the main celebration falling in March. This year, we conducted an extensive program aimed at enhancing awareness of sleep disorders among both the general public and healthcare professionals.

Public Awareness Initiatives:
• Media Publications:
Multiple articles focusing on sleep disorders, particularly road safety and the dangers of microsleep, were published in major English and Bahasa Melayu newspapers, including The Sun, The Star, Harian Metro, and other mainstream outlets.
• National TV Appearance:
We appeared on national television (RTM) to discuss microsleep, its impact on public safety, and the importance of World Sleep Day in raising sleep health awareness.
• Youth Engagement Collaboration:
In partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, we launched a campaign targeting youth awareness on microsleep and road safety. YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports, served as spokesperson for this initiative.
• Radio Outreach:
We hosted Fly FM at our hospital to talk about the importance of managing sleep apnea in clinical settings.
• Social Media Campaigns and Awareness Video:
A special awareness video on microsleep was produced and released ahead of the Eid celebrations to caution road users.

Our collective digital efforts through Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook reached over 1 million views and generated hundreds of public interactions from January to April 2025.

Professional Development Initiatives:
• Malaysian Multidisciplinary Sleep Conference 2025:
In conjunction with World Sleep Day 2025, we hosted the Malaysian Multidisciplinary Sleep Conference 2025 from 23rd to 24th April 2025 at The Vertical, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.
• Collaborative Effort:
Organized in collaboration with the Sleep Disorders Society of Malaysia (SDSM), Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Hospital Putrajaya, and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
• Diverse Participation:
The conference welcomed over 350 delegates from fields such as Otorhinolaryngology, Respiratory Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurology, Dentistry, Endocrinology, Sports Medicine, and Bariatric Surgery.
• International Representation:
We featured more than 20 distinguished speakers and trainers, including international experts from Singapore, Thailand, and India.
• Academic and Networking Highlights:
A research poster exhibition showcased work by professors and students, with awards given for best presentations to encourage high-quality sleep research.
The conference also served as a key networking platform, bringing together clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in sleep medicine.
