Ireland 2019: Temple Street Children’s University Hospital

Delegate: Temple Street Children’s University Hospital

Affiliations: Children’s Health ireland at Temple Street

Short Bio: In November 1872, Temple St, Children’s University Hospital started life as a charitable infirmary at 9 Upper Temple Street where it opened with just 21 beds. Despite such modest beginnings, the impact that the hospital has had on improving the health and wellbeing of Irish children has been immense.

Activity: We held an Information Lunch for staff. Our focus was based on HALT – Hungry, Angry, Late or tired take a break (Guys and st Thomas). Everyone who came in got a small A6 booklet with sleep information which contained the 10 commandments for adults and children, they also got a kitkat to encourage them to take a break. Everyone who signed in at the event got a sleep mask and ear plugs.

We have also produced an eight poster pack for each of the wards/departments in the hospital so they can keep changing the poster each week and keep sleep front and center.

Location: Temple Street, Dublin 1

Date of Activity:
15th march 2019
