A passionate advocate for “Better Sleep for Better Health,” he works extensively to promote awareness of sleep disorders—particularly Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)—and their impact on public health, productivity, and overall wellbeing.
Maity’s research focuses on cloud-based PAP therapy adherence and myofunctional therapy for OSA. His first paper, published in (Lung India,2023), was the first Indian study on Air View, examining cloud-based CPAP adherence PubMed: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37148016. His second publication, “A comparative cloud-based view of adherence data over 1 year of CPAP versus APAP uses in OSA patients: Adherence depends on PAP device” (Lung India, 2025) PubMed: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40296388 , demonstrated that long-term adherence varies by device type, emphasizing the role of telemonitoring and personalized patient motivation.
His ongoing work, “Myofunctional Therapy to Treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea,” has shown promising results, particularly among children and elderly patients—including those with residual AHI after adenotonsillectomy or PAP noncompliance.
