GIPH collaborates with prominent international organizations, public health institutions and Universities across the globe. Many global public health professionals of Indian origin with immense experience in public health practice and training are part of the institute
GIPH also supports health departments of various state governments to extend training to in-service candidates to equip them to be better public health managers and works with Indian research and teaching institutes to develop a network of public health researchers. Activity: In connection with World Sleep Day 2023, the Society of NeuroDiagnostic Technology and Global Institute of Public health have jointly initiated a Kerala state wide awareness and educational programme called ” Drive-Awake Drive-Alive” for the public Transport drivers. Shri Antony Raju , Minister for Transport, Government of Kerala Inaugurated at Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute. Sleep specialists conducted seminars for the Drivers. Padmasree Prof Dr A Marthanda Pillai, Dr Anil Kumar, Senior consultant Neurologist, Dr Muhammed Kutty Consultant Pulmonologist, Prof Rajasekharan Nair, Sajeesh Parameswaran, Jinbert Lordson, GIPH and SNDT scholars were present during the campaign.
Chief Minister Sri Pinaryai Vijayan released the Driver’s booklet for safe driving practices to avoid drowsy driving or sleep at wheel. We are about to organise such activities in various centres in Kerala.
We got positive responses from Drivers, public and Media. News came in major news papers and channels. We are planning to organize free sleep risk assessments and sleep disorder awareness classes/training across India.
