Scope of Activity: Campaign

Activity: In the framework of World Sleep Day 2026, the Colombian Association of Sleep Medicine (ACMES) organized the academic activity “Sleep Well, Live Better”, a space designed to raise awareness among the general public and healthcare professionals about the importance of sleep as a fundamental pillar of overall health.

The event, held as a webinar, brought together experts from different fields such as occupational medicine, integrative medicine, and sports medicine, who addressed the impact of sleep on physical performance, mental health, productivity, and quality of life. Through a practical and interdisciplinary approach, strategies were promoted to improve sleep habits and prevent associated disorders.

This initiative aligns with the global call of the World Sleep Society, aiming to position sleep as a key determinant of public health and to promote a culture of well-being based on adequate rest.

As part of World Sleep Day 2026, ACMES too launched an engaging social media initiative featuring its mascot “Dolly,” who led a dance challenge aimed at promoting healthy sleep habits. Through the campaign hashtag #SleepWellLiveBetter, the activity encouraged participation from the general public, healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

Participants were invited to learn a simple choreography, record their own version, and share it on social media, fostering community engagement and awareness. The initiative highlighted the importance of physical activity while reinforcing key sleep health messages, such as avoiding vigorous exercise close to bedtime and maintaining healthy daily rhythms.

This creative and interactive approach successfully combined education, movement, and digital engagement to position sleep as an essential component of a healthy lifestyle.
