Activity: Hearing the first hand experiences of youth who’ve had a concussion is essential to gaining a deeper understanding of the stress and distress following a concussion. To fill in gaps in our knowledge, we’ve started an initiative to interview youth with lived experience of a concussion to guide us in the development of personalized treatments that will support future research. On World Sleep Day 2022, we are hosting a virtual forum event on that will be open to high school youth, athletes, and coaches/trainers. During this forum, research trainees of all ages, as well as community and university-based researchers will share and discuss their latest research related to concussions and it’s impact on sleep. We will review traditional and innovative communication concepts, including youth-led participatory action initiatives for public feedback.
