In the previous weeks, physicians from the Peruvian Association of Sleep Medicine (APEMES in spanish) gave interviews in TV and radio programs, about the importance of sleep in different age groups and to advertise the activity of the 13th of March. We also gave away informative brochures and posters with information regarding sleep and the World Sleep Day.
On March 13th, we organized an activity directed to the general public in a local Hotel in Miraflores, Lima, Peru, with the help of our sponsors (medical equipment companies and a Sleep Institute). Around 300 people, (three times the people that assisted last year) gathered from 6 pm to 10:30 pm to hear brief informative speeches about the importance of sleep, the most common sleep disorders and how they affect our quality of life, and physical and mental health.
