Multi-Country 2019: Hypersomnia Foundation

Delegate: Hypersomnia Foundation

Affiliations: Hypersomnia Foundation

Short Bio: The Hypersomnia Foundation is committed to improving the lives of people living with idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) and related sleep disorders. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with idiopathic hypersomnia and related disorders by advocating on their behalf, providing support, educating the public and healthcare professionals, raising awareness, and funding research into effective treatments, better diagnostic tools, and, ultimately, a cure for these debilitating conditions.

Activity: Throughout the month of March, we will be promoting World Sleep Day. The Hypersomnia Foundation wants everyone to know that people around the world are suffering from idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) and related sleep disorders. Global awareness will help researchers and pharmaceutical companies structure their studies and demonstrate to legislators, in the United States and throughout the world, that the challenge of living with IH is global. We want everyone to help us track the need for worldwide IH support and are asking people to send us a picture letting the world know they have IH and are ready to get #BeyondSleepy. We will ask people to give us a general idea of their location; e.g. Oregon, Tokyo, Paris, Montreal, Bolivia – and we will drop a pin on our IH World Map on the Hypersomnia Foundation website. Where in the world are people with IH? WE ARE EVERYWHERE and it’s time to let the world know we will get #BeyondSleepy!

Location: Worldwide

Date of Activity: March 1 – 30, 2019
